Calligraphy is not as difficult as it would first appear. There are many links here that will assist you in becoming the calligrapher you always wanted to be. The only thing you need to add is practice and dedication. Before you know it your handwriting will be the envy on many. If there are sites you know of that would fit this directory please let me know. The site will be reviewed and added if it meets my standards. If you find this site useful please let others know about it.

Calligraphy and Calligraphers
- ACA - Association for the Calligraphic Arts
- Looks like a new site that's working real hard to be a sounding board for the Calligraphic Arts. A couple of artist profiles that are kind of nice. Also a good list of calligraphers and calligraphy teachers.
- Calligraphy
- A Canadian calligrapher's personal page with resource links.
- Calligraphy Center
- For those interested in the fine art of fancy lettering.
- Christopher Smith's Calligraphy Site
- A general calligraphy site with some how-to articles and some decent examples in the gallery. The "Links" link could use a makeover as it goes to a bunch of dead or irelevent sites. Otherwise OK though.
- Codices Electronici Sangallenses
- Check out the "Virtual Library" link for some nice scans of an ancient manuscript.
- Coit Pen Nibs
- Tools for the Calligrapher. Lots of cool tools here.
- Cynscribe Calligraphy Resources
- The site to use for an extensive list of calligraphy resources.
- Friends of Calligraphy
- A Calligraphy Society based out of San Francisco, California. They've been around for a long time and if you join you get their very slick publications. Worth checking out.
- Hamilton Calligraphy Guild
- The official website of the Hamilton Calligraphy Guild. Curiously enough there is no gallery of member calligraphic artwork but their newsletters are quite nice and available in PDF format.
- Handlettering Forum
- A decent site (forum) for those interested in the traditional ways of handlettering and sign making. It looks as if the site is quite active.
- IAMPETH - The International Association of Master Penmen, Engrossers & Teachers of Handwriting
- Now there's a mouthful! Some very decent how-to articles in PDF format. Also lots of high resolution scans of some remarkable calligraphy work.
- John Neal Books
- Calligraphy books and calligraphy supplies. If you're a calligrapher in North America you'll have likely heard of John Neal Books.
- John Stevens Calligraphy & Design
- Some very nice calligraphy can be found here. John Stevens is a true professional.
- Leonardt
- Makers of pens, nibs, and pen holders. They also manufacture other metal products. Headquartered in the UK.
- Lettering Arts Guild - Red Deer, Alberta
- A well organized and active calligraphy group with a good looking website. Click on, what looks like to me, the "beer can calligraphy pen" to get to the gallery of some really nice calligraphy work. As a side note, there are very few members of the male persuasion in the Lettering Arts Guild. I know this from personal experience.
- Manuscript Pen Company
- Makers of pens and inks. Headquartered in the UK. Unfortunately their FREE lessons are tagged as "temporarily unavailable".
- Quietfire Design
- Excellent calligraphy site. Book binding and art cards as well.
- Quote Land
- Now here's a handy site if you need a quote or saying that would look good calligriphied - I made that word up.
- Society for Calligraphy
- The official site of the Society for Calligraphy of Southern California.
- Society of Scribes
- The official website of the Society of Scribes based out of New York City. Looks to be a very active guild.
- The Village Scribe
- An extensive website with lots of excellent and well researched links for everything from pens, to inks, to workshops and calligraphy guilds and societies around the world.
- Tannia May - Scribe
- The site of a Canadian calligrapher and illuminator.
- Zanerian
- Some truly exquisite copperplate - engrosser's script - can be found here. Dedicated to some fine work to come from the Zanerian College in Columbus, Ohio. Well worth checking out!
